Tesamorelin is a synthetic 44-amino-acid analogue of growth hormone–releasing hormone (GHRH). It binds to GHRH receptors and stimulates the synthesis and release of endogenous growth hormone, which can increase downstream insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1) signaling.
Structure: 44-amino-acid synthetic peptide modified with a trans-3-hexenoyl group at the N-terminus
Molecular Formula: C₂₂₁H₃₆₆N₇₂O₆₇S (free-base form)
Receptor Activity: Growth hormone–releasing hormone receptor agonist
Research Use Only: Not intended for human or veterinary use.
